Spherical vessel with an egg-shaped belly and a rounded bottom; in the upper part the belly merges into a low cylindrical neck terminating in a narrow, strongly protruding, rounded rim turned outwards. Vice-free bulbous clay vessel. Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Al-Jazira Khabur basin, Northern Mesopotamia; Tell Rad Shakra northeastern Syria, c. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Height 16.5 cm, width 16.2 cm., A rounded, earthen-colored ceramic vessel with a textured surface and visible repaired cracks occupies the image against a solid gray background; the vessel shows a rim with two small outward flaring projections and uneven, chipped edges, and its surface displays variations of beige, tan, light brown, and pale yellow tones with darker brown areas along some cracks and edges.
