Spherical vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC Early Dynastic III period. Clay vessel; vice-less spherical vessel with rounded bottom. Upper part of the vessel wall bends inward, creating sloping arms that merge into an arched, low neck terminating in a narrow, outwardly obliquely cut rim with a triangular cross section. c. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra Northeastern Syria. Vessel; height 20.3 cm, width 21 cm., A rounded clay vessel with a wide, slightly flared rim sits against a solid gray background; the vessel surface is rough and textured with an overall beige to light tan color, showing variations of darker brown and faint grayish areas, along with small pits and speckled spots; the interior appears darker and more shadowed, and the rim shows slight irregularities and wear.
