Spherical vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop, Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC Early Dynastic III period, clay, vice-less spherical vessel with a rounded bottom. In the upper part of the vessel wall the vessel bends inwards, creating sloping arms that merge into an arched, low neck terminating in a narrow, outwardly obliquely cut rim with a triangular cross-section. c. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra Northeastern Syria. Height 20.3 cm; width 21 cm., A large rounded clay pot with a narrow rim sits against a plain gray background; the pot's surface is textured and rough with a mix of beige, tan, brown, and off-white tones, showing patches of darker brown and subtle speckles, and a visible hairline crack near the rim.
