Small clay vessel for oils and ointments with an ellipsoidal belly, rounded bottom, low flared neck ending in a flat top thickened by an outward curl. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Al-Jazira, Khabur basin, Tell Rad Shakra, Syria. Height 7.4 cm; width 8.6 cm., A rounded ceramic vessel with a short neck and flared rim sits against a plain gray background; the surface shows a weathered, uneven texture with patches of lighter and darker beige, tan, and ochre, along with areas of brown discoloration and small spots of darker mottling, and a few rough or chipped edges near the rim.
