Funerary stele with a depiction of the deceased Hermiones and a Latin inscription, unknown Roman workshop, female images, sepulchral funerary architecture, Latin inscriptions, 240–245, Roman Empire 27 BC–476, slab, height 47.5 cm, width 60.5 cm, depth 6 cm, weight 32 kg, A carved stone relief depicting a bust of a person set within a shallow arched niche, the figure shown from the chest up with stylized hair and a draped garment, all carved in pale white marble with subtle gray veining and slight brownish discoloration in places; the rectangular surrounding stone has a rougher texture with chips and worn edges, and there are several areas of shadowed carving creating depth around the niche and garment folds.
