Vessel with hieratic inscription, Egyptian pottery ceramic conical vessel tapering towards the bottom, irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height. Narrow, slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Shallow horizontal lines at the widest diameter made before firing. Handmade with upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Even surface, outer probably covered with engobe. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black on lower belly. Quite well preserved with slight damage to the rim. Analogies cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty. Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel height 13.9 cm; rim diameter 5.9 cm; belly diameter 8.5 cm., A rounded earthen object with a rough, textured surface in shades of brown and tan sits against a flat gray background; the object shows small areas of darker brown and faint pale spots, with a few small pits and irregularities on its surface.
