Vessel with hieratic inscription, Egyptian pottery conical vessel tapering toward the bottom, handcrafted clay vessel with upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Slightly irregular, widest approx. 3/4 of the height; narrow sloping shoulders; short wide neck; very gently rounded, widening rim; pointed bottom. Around half the height a trace of joining of two separately made parts. Surface leveled, outer probably covered with a layer of engobe. Made of Nile clay Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black on the lower part of the belly. Rim damaged. Analogies cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Dimensions: height 13.2 cm; diameter 5.8 cm rim; diameter 8.3 cm body., A rounded, dome-shaped object with a rough, pitted surface dominates the image, showing a tan to light brown color with small darker brown and gray speckles and blemishes; the background is a uniform light gray.
