Bowl, Egyptian painted pottery bowl with a conical shape and a ring-shaped foot. Straight rim, slightly flaring outward, irregular. Wheel-made of Nile clay type ND, Vienna System. Surface covered with glaze before firing; inner and outer rim have a narrow approx. 0.5 cm black band of decoration; remainder of vessel is red. Traces of polish and slight glaze wear possibly from use. Good condition with minor clay chips on rim and surface abrasions. Analogies: Egypt's Golden Age no. 51, p. 78, ca. 1550–1425 BC; New Kingdom, early 18th Dynasty. Provenance possibly Edfu or Deir el-Medina. Vessel; height 5.3 cm; rim diameter 15.1 cm; base diameter 3.1 cm., A shallow, worn earthenware bowl shown from the underside, with a rounded rim that has visible chips and rough edges; the surface texture is coarse with patches of abrasion and small pits. The bowl is predominantly reddish-brown with areas of lighter tan and faint grayish discoloration; there are a few darker brown spots and some subtle greenish-beige streaks. The shape tapers toward a small flat foot at the center, and the overall form shows irregularities and weathering on the exterior surface.
