Vessel, Egyptian pottery, handmade clay vessel, almost cylindrical, widest just below a straight, slightly tapering rim; rounded bottom; shoulders almost illegible. Handmade from Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface; carelessly made with uneven depressions especially at the bottom; brown color; cracks from clay preparation and firing. Date ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC Old Kingdom, from Edfu. Vessel, height 37.9 cm; diameter 11.4 cm rim, 12.5 cm body., A tall cylindrical clay vessel with an irregular rim and rough, pitted surface, showing a weathered texture and small holes and indentations across its body; the form is slightly tapered with subtle bulges and a rounded base, and visible marks and scratches on the exterior. The colors visible are various shades of brown, reddish-brown, gray, and a few darker brown spots, set against a neutral light gray background.
