Vessel, Egyptian pottery, clay vessel of ovoid, slightly downward-stretching shape, widest at about 2/3 of the height. Broad, sloping shoulders, very short wide neck. Rounded rim, slightly profiled in the lower part, oval in cross-section, slightly flaring. Rounded bottom. Just above the widest diameter there is a dent made before firing. Clay NB2 Vienna System with significant organic admixture. Wheel-made; approximately half the height was worked with a knife or similar tool. Beige. Cracked in the upper part. Old Kingdom, c. 2686–c. 2181 BC; from Edfu. Vessel; height 34 cm; rim diameter 10.5 cm; body diameter 29 cm., A large rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow neck and flared rim sits against a plain background; the surface shows a weathered, matte finish in shades of beige and light tan with areas of pale gray, faint orange and rusty brown spots, and subtle pinkish patches, along with numerous small dark specks, shallow scratches, and hairline cracks across the body.
