Vessel, Egyptian pottery, handmade clay vessel, almost cylindrical, widest just below the rim, rounded bottom, slightly marked narrow sloping shoulders, straight tapering rim. Handmade of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface; surface uneven and better worked in the upper part, with numerous uneven depressions especially at the bottom. Color brown. Fairly well preserved; cracks on the surface attributed to careless craftsmanship during kneading and firing. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; Edfu place of origin. Vessel; height 36.5 cm, diameter 11.5 cm rim, diameter 13.2 cm body., A tall cylindrical object with a rough, pitted surface in shades of beige and light brown, showing irregular dents, holes, and small cracks; the top edge is uneven and slightly thicker with a darker interior, and the background is a smooth neutral gray.
