Vessel, Egyptian pottery, hand-made clay vessel, almost cylindrical, widest just below a straight, tapering rim; rounded bottom; slightly marked, irregular, very narrow sloping shoulders. Handmade from Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface; uneven surface, better worked in the upper part; carelessly made with numerous uneven depressions, especially on the bottom. Brown color. Fairly well preserved; surface cracks resulting from craftsmanship, kneading and firing. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC; from Edfu. Vessel, height 36.5 cm; diameter 11.5 cm rim, 13.2 cm body., A roughly cylindrical, elongated object with a textured, pitted surface fills the frame against a plain gray background; the object appears earthy and irregular with a rough, porous texture and small holes, indentations, and surface cracks, showing a dominant tan or light brown color with subtle variations of darker brown and tiny flecks of gray, and a slightly rounded top edge with a few lighter spots.
