Vessel, Egyptian pottery, hand-made clay vessel with a conical belly widest in its upper part approx. 4/5 of the vessel's height, rounded bottom. Shoulders irregularly marked—clearly sloping on one side and short, almost horizontal on the opposite. Straight, slightly tapering rim. Made of Nile clay with numerous organic inclusions and limestone particles visible on the surface. Surface uneven with numerous uneven depressions; brown color. Carelessly made; cracks on the surface result from poor clay kneading. Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; from Edfu. Vessel height 38 cm; rim diameter 11.7 cm; body diameter 15.7 cm., A single tall, irregularly shaped clay vessel with a rough textured surface in shades of beige, tan, light brown, and hints of reddish-brown, showing a weathered, pitted appearance and uneven ridges; the top rim is broken and reveals a darker, earthier interior, and the body displays small holes, scratches, and areas of darker brown and gray discoloration against a plain gray background.
