Vessel, Medium-sized jug with a biconical body, widest at about half its height; wide shoulders, not very sloping. Wide, almost cylindrical neck widening toward the spout, the neck about one-third of the vessel's height. Profiled, irregular spout, slightly raised and extended on one side forming a small spout; spout nearly triangular in cross-section with an approximately millimeter-sized cylindrical bulge on the outer profile. Bottom almost flat with a very slight rounding. Made of Nile clay NB1? according to the Vienna System. Neck made separately and attached to the shoulders. Outer surface smoothed, covered with an engobe and polished; inner surface smoothed, except for the neck, which is also covered with engobe and polished. Reddish-brown color. Quite well preserved; rim slightly chipped in two places and outer engobe worn in places. Comparative parallels: Saqqara II cat. 210–211, form 35; similar vessel from the same excavations Louvre E 16586. Circa 2345–2181 BC; Old Kingdom, 6th Dynasty, Edfu. Vessel; height 17 cm, rim diameter 9.8 cm, body diameter 14.6 cm, bottom diameter 9.5 cm., A top-down view of a round clay vessel with a wide circular opening and a small spout-like indentation on its rim, showing a rough, weathered surface with patches of lighter wear; the vessel is predominantly reddish-brown with areas of tan and faint gray, and the interior appears very dark to black, set against a smooth light gray background.
