Medum-type bowl, Egyptian pottery, Medum-type bowl with characteristic carination under the rim. Rounded bottom. Straight, slightly flaring rim. Narrow, sloping shoulders. The diameter of the rim equals the diameter of the vessel's shoulders. Clay probably NB1. The surface was leveled and covered with a layer of engobe, then polished. Vessel color: red. Vessel glued together from original fragments. Minor losses on the rim. c. 2686–c. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu. Vessel; height 6.9 cm, diameter 24.5 cm rim, diameter 24.9 cm shoulders., A large shallow bowl viewed from the side with a rounded underside and a slightly flared rim, showing a worn, coarse surface with visible repair lines and small chips; the bowl is primarily reddish-brown with lighter tan streaks and flecks, set against a pale gray background.
