Vessel, Egyptian clay vessel with an almost spherical belly, widest about 1/3 of the vessel's height; sloping shoulders; poorly defined, very short and wide neck; rounded, slightly flaring rim; rounded bottom. Made of Nile clay NB. Surface smooth; outer surface finished to about half its height with a knife or similar tool; rather indistinct cord impression around the widest diameter of the belly. Light red color. Chipped rim and traces of salting across the surface. Comparative typology: type II–III, Old Kingdom ca. 2686–2181 BC. Dimensions: height 24.9 cm; rim diameter 10.3 cm; body diameter 24.2 cm. Origin: Edfu., A round clay vessel viewed from above with a central circular opening showing a dark interior, the vessel surface displaying a weathered texture and a mix of earthy colors including brown, tan, beige, and hints of gray, with some lighter speckles and small rough patches on the rim and body.
