Vessel, Egyptian ceramic clay vessel of ovoid, slightly downward-stretched shape, widest at about 2/3 of the height. Broad shoulders, very short wide neck; roller-shaped rim oval in cross-section, slightly flaring. Rounded bottom. Handcrafted from two parts joined at about 2/3 of the height; upper part turned. Clay with a significant amount of organic admixture Viennese System. Surface leveled; traces of a white substance on outer surface and rim in places. Beige color. Complete, well-preserved. Late Old Kingdom ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC. From Edfu. Height 24.9 cm; rim diameter 10.2 cm; body diameter 20.7 cm., A round, weathered clay vessel viewed from above with a wide dark opening at its center, showing a rough textured surface in shades of tan, beige, brown, and a few gray speckles, set against a smooth pale gray background.
