Vessel, Egyptian ceramic ovoid vessel, clay with significant organic admixture Viennese System. Handcrafted from two parts joined at about 2/3 of the height, upper part turned. Ovoid, slightly downward-stretched shape, widest at ~2/3 height; broad shoulders, very short wide neck; roller-shaped rim oval in cross-section and slightly flaring; rounded bottom. Surface leveled; traces of a white substance on outer surface and rim. Beige color; complete, well-preserved. Late Old Kingdom ca. 2686–2181 BC. From Edfu. Height 24.9 cm; rim diameter 10.2 cm; body diameter 20.7 cm., A large rounded clay jar with a short, slightly raised rim sits against a plain neutral background; the jar's surface shows a rough, textured finish with small pits and wear marks, and its overall color is a warm beige with patches of lighter tan and occasional darker brown and grayish spots.
