Narrow, only slightly sloping shoulders; short, wide neck; very gently rounded, slightly flaring rim; pointed bottom. Handcrafted; upper part shoulders, neck, rim turned. Smooth surface, exterior probably covered with engobe. In the widest part three shallow horizontal lines over ~0.8 cm. Made of Nile clay NB2 Vienna System. Remains of a hieratic inscription in black sht on lower body. Vessel complete, well-preserved. Comparative parallels cited; earlier dated to the 4th–5th Dynasty / Old Kingdom, ca. 2686–2181 BC.
