Jug. Jug with a biconical belly, widest at about half its height. Broad, not very sloping shoulders. Wide neck, slightly widening toward the spout; neck height about one-third of total vessel height. Profiled, irregular spout, slightly raised and extended on one side forming a small secondary spout; spout nearly triangular in cross-section with an approx. 1 mm indentation at center of outer profile. Bottom very slightly rounded. Made of Nile clay NB1? per Vienna System. Neck was made separately and joined to the body; joint traces erased. Outer surface smoothed, covered with an engobe and polished. Inner surface smoothed except for the neck, which was also covered with engobe and polished. Color reddish-brown. Well preserved; rim slightly chipped in two places and engobe worn in places on outer surface. Provenance: Edfu — local workshop.
