Jug with biconical belly. Vessel is widest at about half its height; broad, not very sloping shoulders; wide neck slightly widening toward the spout, the neck about one-third of total height. Spout profiled, irregular, slightly raised and extended on one side forming a small secondary spout; almost triangular in cross-section with a c. 1 mm indentation in the centre of the outer profile. Bottom very slightly rounded. Made of Nile clay NB1 per Vienna System. Neck was made separately and joined to the body; joint traces erased. Outer surface smoothed, covered with engobe and polished; inner surface smoothed except for the neck, which was also engobed and polished. Reddish-brown color. Fairly well preserved; rim slightly chipped in two places and engobe worn off in places on the outer surface. Local workshop at Edfu. Comparative typology: Reisner, type XIX–XX, Old Kingdom ca. 2686–2181 BC; comparable vessel with height 17.4 cm, rim Ø 8.1 cm, body Ø 15 cm, base Ø 8.6 cm., A single terracotta vessel with a rounded body that tapers toward the base and rises into a short neck with a flared rim, shown against a plain gray background; the surface of the vessel is reddish-brown with areas of lighter wear and small darker spots, and there are a few scuffed or rough patches on the body and near the rim.
