Bowl. Low bowl with irregular, strongly flaring walls and a rounded bottom. Rounded rim, slightly rolled outward. Surface smoothed and covered with a layer of red engobe. Bottom worked with a tool. Hand-made. Vessel glued together from several fragments. Egyptian pottery, clay/ceramic vessel, bowl. Old Kingdom, c. 2686–2181 BC. Height 6.1 cm; diameter rim/body 28.3 cm., Edfu place of origin., A shallow, round earthenware bowl with a slightly uneven rim and a smooth interior surface, shown against a plain gray background; the bowl appears in shades of reddish-brown and terra cotta with some darker speckles and subtle variations in tone, and the background is medium gray.
