Bit, unknown Luristan workshop. The bit consists of a rigid bar and two cheek plates depicting a horse in profile. The bar, with a quadrangular cross-section, is slightly curved and has chamfered edges. Its ends are forged into a ribbon, which is wrapped in oppositely facing rings. The bar is inserted into two round holes in the cheek plates, which are located in the animals' torsos. Externally, they form circular rings protruding from the background, occupying the entire surface of the plates in this location. The cheek plates are modeled on one side; only the animal heads and necks are modeled on both sides. Attributed to Antoni Mierzejewski. 9th–6th century BC; Iron Period II c. 1000–601 BC. Height 8.6 cm; width 20 cm; depth 13.8 cm; weight 480 g., A small sculpted animal figure shown in profile on a flat surface, cast in a dark brown metallic material with a slightly rough, pitted texture and areas of lighter brown and subtle grayish tones. The figure has a long snout, rounded ears, a mane or crest along the neck, and four legs connected by an irregular base that follows the contours of the feet. A circular ring-like form encircles the midsection with a flat rectangular loop passing through it, both showing a slightly brighter brown patina. The background is a smooth, even light gray.
