Bit, unknown Luristan workshop. The bit consists of a rigid bar and two cheek plates depicting a horse in profile. The bar, with a quadrangular cross-section, is slightly curved and has chamfered edges. Its ends are forged into a ribbon, which is wrapped in oppositely facing rings. The bar is inserted into two round holes in the cheek plates, located in the animals' torsos; externally they form circular rings protruding from the background, occupying the entire surface of the plates at that location. The cheek plates are modeled on one side; only the animal heads and necks are modeled on both sides. Attributed to Antoni Mierzejewski. Dated 9th–6th century BC; Iron Period II c. 1000–601 BC.
