Pine cone-shaped cippus, cippus used in sepulchral funerary architecture, classified as Gallo-Classical scenography/architectural element, Etruria Italy, Praeneste Italy as place of origin, echinus-shaped base from which a double acanthus wreath topped with an egg-shaped element grows, acanthus ornament, 4th–3rd century BC, height 32.3 cm, width 15.2 cm, weight 6.9 kg., A weathered sculpted object with a rough textured surface standing on a round base, shaped like an elongated egg or teardrop atop a decorative, carved pedestal with layered, irregular edges and sculpted ridges; the material appears stone-like with an uneven, pitted surface and small holes on one side. The visible colors are shades of gray and off-white against a mid-gray background.
