Gnathian skyphos with depiction of an altar, Gnathia style, Southern Italic pottery, ca. 340–320 BC, Southern Italy, skyphos vessel, weight 0.168 kg, iconography: altar., A black ceramic vessel with a rounded body tapering to a narrow foot and a short pedestal, featuring a pair of horizontal handles extending from opposite sides; the lower foot and a band near the base show reddish-brown clay, while the main body is coated in black and decorated with pale yellow and cream painted motifs including stylized leaf shapes and abstract forms arranged in horizontal bands; a narrow red band encircles the upper portion beneath the rim, and the rim area displays a pattern in cream and black; the handles and rim show areas of wear with lighter patches.
