Satyr figurine. Clay figurine depicting a satyr with a face stylized as a mask with protruding ears and two horns. The man is shown in an unnatural pose — crouching with legs widely apart, supported by a thick tail. The hands are raised upwards, emphasizing and exposing the figure's genitals. The satyr's hands touch the figure's head, which is tilted slightly to the left. The face is characterized by lush, regular facial hair. The figure's eyes are small. The eyebrows and broad nose are clearly defined. The figure's thin mouth is closed. Both the hands and legs are treated schematically in comparison to the carefully modeled face. The fine-grained clay from which the figurine was made has a yellowish tint. 5th century BC previous datings: 2nd half of the 6th century BC–beginning of the 5th century BC; earlier: end of the 6th century BC–first half of the 5th century BC. Origin: Corinth. Dimensions: height 8.8 cm, width 4.8 cm, depth 4.4 cm; weight 0.04 kg. Creator: unknown., A roughly textured sculptural figure in shades of tan, beige, brown, and touches of darker gray-blue stands on a flat gray surface against a neutral gray background; the form has a narrow torso rising from a broad base formed by a group of curved, leg-like supports and an upper portion with rounded, arm-like extensions raised toward an abstract head, which shows a protruding snout-like shape, smooth worn areas, and mottled darker patches.
