Amphora, Cyprus, geometric motifs, Cypriot pottery. Large amphora with two horizontal handles, rounded shoulders, and a neck narrowing in the middle, ending with a profiled rim. Decoration in red and black: on the neck formed by sets of lines, stripes, vertical lines, and triangles; on the belly formed by black lines and stripes. 850–750 BC. Vessel. Height 64.2 cm; width 42.4 cm., A large rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow base, bulbous body, and flaring neck, shown against a gray background; the vessel surface is primarily beige and cream with areas of darker patina and some reddish discoloration, and it features several horizontal bands and stripes in black and dark brown, plus a broad reddish band near the neck; there are geometric decorative motifs in dark paint around the upper neck and a few worn spots and surface blemishes; short rounded handles with darker coloring are attached near the shoulder on either side.
