Jug, Jug on a ring-shaped foot, from which a low, wide stem extends, transitioning into a belly. The upper part of the spherical body has a narrow spout. The wide, flaring neck terminates in a simple spout, from both sides of which a vice, shaped like a flattened cylinder, extends above the vessel. Decoration in brown varnish: concentric circles around the vessel four below and three above the spout. The foot and stem are varnished on the top; the neck and side edges of the vice are varnished on the outside. The upper part of the vice is decorated with a row of transverse stripes. A strip of varnish encircles the spout at the base, and three stripes decorate the spout on the sides and top. Dated 1050–950 BC; Cyprus, Geometric period I Cyprus-Geometric District IA. Vessel; height 12.8 cm, width 6.5 cm., A rounded ceramic vessel with a narrow flared neck, a single arched handle extending from the neck to the rim, and a small flared foot. The surface shows a worn, matte texture with areas of darker discoloration and small chips. The vessel is primarily a beige or tan clay color with several horizontal bands and stripes in dark brown or black around the shoulder, neck, handle, and midsection. The background is a flat gray.
