Vessel base. Funnel-shaped vessel base, narrowest at about 2/3 of the height. Both rims are oval in cross-section, slightly upturned. The upper rim has a slightly wavy line. Made of Nile clay. Outer surface and surface of the upper rim are smoothed, covered with a layer of engobe and polished; inner surface smoothed. Vessel color: red. Vessel glued together from several fragments; gaps filled with plaster. Surface eroded in places. Comparative material: ca. 2686–ca. 2181 BC; Old Kingdom, Edfu; vessel, height 23.9 cm, diameter 16.9 cm rim, diameter 19.6 cm bottom., A single terracotta object shaped like an hourglass with a flared rim and base, showing a rough, mottled surface in shades of reddish-brown and muted orange with patches of lighter beige and darker brown, small pits and irregularities across its body, a gently curved narrow middle section expanding into wide, rounded edges, and a neutral gray background.
