Wheel from a model wagon, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop, terracotta model wheel, large terracotta wheel with a full disc of lenticular cross-section and a protruding modelled hub on both sides for the axle, c. 2600–c. 2350 BC Early Jazira III / Early Dynastic III period, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Syria; found at Tell Jassa el Gharbi north-eastern Syria; model/toy; height 10 cm, width 3.74 cm, weight 114 g., A vertical beige, off-white, and light brown irregular object with a rough, textured surface is centered against a smooth gray background; the object tapers to a rounded point at both top and bottom and has a central ridge with a pair of protruding wing-like flanges on either side, showing small pits, scratches, and areas of slightly darker discoloration.
