Bowl, unknown northern Mesopotamian workshop; Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; clay table vessel bowl with a flat oval bottom from which straight, slightly tilted walls rise in a short arc, terminating in a straight, not distinct rim; provenance: Al-Jazira Northern Mesopotamia, Khabur basin, Tell Jassa el Gharbi north-eastern Syria; vessel; height 7 cm, width 12.2 cm., A shallow rounded bowl with a smooth, worn surface shown against a solid dark gray background, the bowl displaying a range of beige and light tan tones with subtle streaks and patches of pale cream and faint brown, a few visible surface cracks and a darker smudge on one side, and the bowl's curved rim and gently rounded base clearly visible.
