Bowl, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop. Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC / Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Clay vessel, table vessel; vice-free. Bowl with a small round flat bottom; walls tilted in the lower half, straight in the upper half, ending with a low, slightly distinct, slightly thickened and rounded rim. Pinkish burn mark in the lower part from contact with the bowl in which it was placed. Ca. 2600–2350 BC. Findspot: Tell Jassa el Gharbi Northeastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur Basin. Height 7.7 cm; width 12.3 cm; weight 170 g., A shallow bowl shape with a rounded base and flared rim sits against a solid gray background; the object shows a smooth, worn surface with a gradient of muted colors including beige, pale yellow, light tan, and a washed reddish-brown band across the lower half, and there are visible hairline cracks, small pitted holes, and irregular surface marks across the exterior.
