Globular vessel, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop Khaburu Basin, vice-free vessel from Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC, used for oils and ointments, clay; Early Dynastic III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC; Al-Jazira Syria/Iraq/Mesopotamia. Vessel with a spherical belly that at three-quarters height merges into short, sloping shoulders with a narrow, slightly flared neck. Part of the neck and spout is missing. Origin: Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin, Tell Jassa el Gharbi north-eastern Syria. Height: 13 cm; width: 10.9 cm., A round, weathered clay vessel viewed from above with a wide central opening, showing a rough, uneven rim and surface with chips and cracks; the vessel's exterior displays a mix of beige, tan, and light brown tones with patches of darker brown and pale off-white areas; the interior appears darker with shadowed brown and grayish hues; the background is a solid muted gray.
