Dagger blade, unknown Mitannian workshop. Blade of a short dagger with a centric point. At the upper end it terminates in a short, rectangular base blunted on both sides, behind which the double-edged blade tapers evenly towards the tip. Hilt not preserved. Mitannian period, c. 1550–c. 1250 BC. Findspot: Tell Abu Hafur East northeastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin. Material: weapon blade. Dimensions: height 15.6 cm; width 2.5 cm; depth 0.2 cm; base length 1.7 cm; base width 1.7 cm., A long, narrow, irregularly edged metal object placed horizontally against a plain background; the object has a rough, pitted surface with uneven contours and a slightly tapered end, showing areas of flaking and layered texture. Visible colors include various shades of brown and rust, darker brown patches, small areas of greenish corrosion, and hints of gray and black within the mottled surface, all set against a muted gray background.
