A hemispherical bowl topped with a simple rim, diagonally cut inward. On the outside, below the rim, a wide, shallow groove runs. The diagonal pink line and the darker surface of the lower part of the bowl are a technological trace created during firing. Unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Tell Abu Hafur north-eastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin. Vessel; height 6.5 cm, width 10 cm, weight 136 g., A rounded bowl resting on a clear circular stand, made of a stone-like material with a smooth matte surface showing layered bands and subtle striations; the bowl displays a range of beige and tan tones with areas of light brown and a thin reddish-brown streak around its midsection, and the interior shows similar beige and tan shading with faint concentric markings.
