Bowl, unknown Northern Mesopotamian workshop. A hemispherical bowl topped with a simple rim, diagonally cut inward. On the outside, below the rim, a wide, shallow groove runs. The diagonal pink line and the darker surface of the lower part of the bowl are a technological trace created during firing. 1st half of the 3rd millennium BC; Early Jazira III period ca. 2600–ca. 2350 BC. Tell Abu Hafur North-Eastern Syria, Northern Mesopotamia Khabur basin. Ceramic vessel; height 6.5 cm, width 10 cm, weight 136 g., A rounded, shallow bowl displayed on a clear circular stand, with a smooth, matte surface in shades of tan and beige with a few subtle reddish streaks and small pale speckles; the background is a flat gray.
