Ring with a scarab and a cryptogram of Amun; Amun mythology, ankh iconography, plant decorations; jewelry, Egyptian art, goldsmithery. The underside of the base is engraved: a bull visible in right profile with the ankh sign above it; in front of the bull on the right side is a tuft of vegetation; at the bottom, a double horizontal line interrupted by three lines mat — probably a cryptogram of the name Amun. Scarab amulet ring, c. 1550–c. 1295 BC; New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, Egypt., A gold ring with a rounded band and a smooth, slightly irregular surface holds an oval green stone set in a gold bezel; the stone shows variations of green with lighter and darker areas and internal lines, and there are small gold beads flanking the bezel, all shown against a light gray background.
