Gold ring of the high priest of the goddess Bastet, Hapimen ca. 664–525 BC. Goldsmithery; gold ring with a rectangular plaque on a circular thick-cylinder hoop. Upper surface of the plaque covered with two rows of hieroglyphic inscription in concave relief. Date: 664–525 BC, Late Period, 26th Dynasty. Possible origin: Leontopolis, possible findspot: Tell el-Moqdam . Subject: Hapimen, Bastet. Dimensions: total length 2.6 cm, width 2.6 cm; eyelet height 1.6 cm, width 1.8 cm; ring thickness 0.4 cm., A gold ring with a square bezel engraved with a group of carved symbols and small pictorial shapes, showing a bird figure, an insect-like motif, a reclining animal shape, and various geometric and curved forms; the ring and bezel are metallic gold in color with small areas of darker brownish or reddish insets within some carved lines, set against a neutral light gray background.
