Terracotta figurine of a woman, unknown Boeotian workshop. Mold-pressed terracotta figurine. Standing woman in a long chiton. Head set on a thick neck; oval face with a large nose and almond-shaped eyes. Arms bent at the elbows, forearms raised with the hands pressed against the shoulders. Right hand holds a cylindrical object probably a fragment of a longer element. Traces of brown and red polychrome. Condition: left hand broken off, surface worn. ca. 550 BC, Boeotia. Height 23 cm, width 7 cm., A standing figurine made of a light beige material with a textured, slightly rough surface and patches of darker brown discoloration, showing a simplified human form with a rounded head, indistinct facial features, shoulder-length hair suggestion, slender neck, narrow shoulders, and long arms positioned at the sides with hands resting near the hips; the body is clothed in a long, straight garment that falls to a flared base with gentle folds and rounded contours, and the entire figure is shown against a uniform mid-gray background.
