Terracotta figurine of a woman, unknown Boeotian workshop. Female mold-pressed terracotta figurine. Standing woman in a long chiton. Head set on a thick neck. Oval face with a large nose and almond-shaped eyes. Arms bent at the elbows, forearms raised so that the hands are pressed against the shoulders. In the right hand is a cylindrical object probably a fragment of a longer element. Traces of brown and red polychrome. Condition: left hand broken off, surface worn. Ca. 550 BC, Boeotia. Figurine; height 23 cm, width 7 cm., A worn, upright figurine with a rounded head and simplified facial features, standing on a flared base; the figure wears a long, straight garment with subtle folds and has arms bent at the elbows with hands near the torso. The surface shows irregular patches and speckles of darker discoloration against a lighter, beige-toned material, with visible rough texture and small pitting. The overall colors visible are beige and darker brownish-gray, set against a neutral gray background.
