Foot-shaped aryballos, aryballos, antique vessel; Yellow-orange clay with mica; matte black engobe on the surface. Shaped as a foot wearing a sandal with a thick sole connected to braided leather straps. The foot ends above the ankle and merges into a narrow neck terminating in an outward-turned rim, decorated from above with radiating lines. A wide, ribbon-like handle is attached vertically to the spout, on which there is an image of a rooster surrounded by dots. Preservation condition: the front part of the foot is filled with plaster. End of the 6th–beginning of the 5th century BC; unknown Ionian workshop; Ionia Turkey/Greece., An object shaped like a foot with an attached ankle and short calf, rendered in earthy tan and beige tones with areas of darker brown and black, shows a textured surface with carved lines suggesting toes and instep on the forepart and layered, irregular surface on the ankle and heel; the top of the calf has a circular, dish-like element with radiating grooves and a recessed center, and a few vertical dark marks decorate the upper portion; the piece rests on a reflective gray background that mirrors its underside.
