Foot-shaped aryballos, Ionian workshop, aryballos, antique vessel. Yellow-orange clay with mica; matte black engobe on the surface. Shaped as a foot shod in a sandal with a thick sole connected to braided leather straps. The foot ends above the ankle and merges into a narrow neck terminating in an outward-turned rim, decorated from above with radiating lines. A wide, ribbon-like handle is attached vertically to the spout, bearing an image of a rooster surrounded by dots. Preservation: the front part of the foot is filled with plaster. Date: end of the 6th – beginning of the 5th century BC. Findspot: Ionia, Turkey/Greece., A small carved object resembling a stylized foot or shoe stands upright against a plain gray background, showing a weathered surface with a mix of beige, tan, brown, and darker blackened areas; the sole and toe area are rounded and display worn texture and subtle carved lines, the midsection tapers upward with irregular rough patches and lighter beige highlights, and the upper portion flares into a short cuff with a ring of darker vertical markings and a flat circular top that appears chipped and discolored.
