Vessel in the shape of a fantastic animal. The neck is long and thin, ending in a triangular, slightly flattened head. The eyes are marked with depressions; the ears are oblong and flat. Geometric decoration covers the entire surface. At its widest point the body is surrounded by a band consisting of a zigzag band covered with a checkered pattern; from this band herringbone stripes radiate at right angles to front and back. Beneath these are wavy stripes of paint. A series of thin lines on the neck; a hole in the front under the neck. Unknown Cypriot workshop, 1900–1600 BC Late Bronze Age II. Terracotta vessel, height 10.7 cm, width 12.5 cm, depth 6.8 cm., A pottery vessel with a rounded body and a protruding spout, standing on a few short conical legs, with a small circular opening on one side; the surface shows painted linear and geometric patterns including diagonal hatchings and curved bands in reddish-brown on a beige clay background, and the spout bears similar reddish-brown striping; the overall colors visible are beige, reddish-brown, and hints of darker brown, set against a solid gray background.
