Sculptural model - head of Ptolemy II, Ptolemy II Philadelphus ruler of Egypt; 285–246 BC. Sculpture model of a male head, Egyptian sculpture, oval rather full face, almond-shaped slightly slanting eyes with upper eyelids marked by a double incision. Eyebrows weakly marked, sloping slightly downwards toward the temples. Nose wide; mouth protruding with recessed corners. Ears in the form of two loops. Back of the head smoothed, with a base. Ptolemaic period probably reign of Ptolemy II, Egypt. Height 13.5 cm, width 10.5 cm, depth 9.5 cm, weight 2.59 kg., A roughly rectangular stone fragment with an irregular, weathered surface and a small round hole near its upper center sits mounted on a translucent yellowish support over a pale base; the stone shows colors of gray, beige, brown, and hints of darker spots, and a small rectangular patch of pale fabric is visible on one side.
