Sculptural model - head of Ptolemy II, Ptolemy II Philadelphus ruler of Egypt; 285–246 BC. Sculpture model, Egyptian sculpture, male head; oval, rather full face; almond-shaped, slightly slanting eyes with upper eyelids marked by a double incision; weakly marked eyebrows sloping slightly downwards toward the temples; wide nose; protruding mouth with recessed corners; ears in the form of two loops; back of the head smoothed, with a base. Ptolemaic period probably reign of Ptolemy II, Egypt. Date: 285–246 BC. Materials: sculpture. Dimensions: height 13.5 cm, width 10.5 cm, depth 9.5 cm; base 19.5 unspecified unit; weight 2.59 kg., A carved stone head fragment shown in profile, mounted on a translucent yellowish support and a pale base, displaying a worn surface with a few chips and scratches; the stone has beige and gray tones with darker spots, and the background is a uniform light gray.
