Figurine of the falcon Sokaris, guardian of the necropolis; Horus mythology. A falcon stands on a thick rectangular base, resting its tail on the back edge. The bird's head is slightly raised; the beak long and curved. The body is long with wings slightly plastically defined in their upper part; the lower parts of the wings merge with the tail. The head is black on the sides and back; the front of the head is yellow with a black diagonal check. The eye is marked with white and black paint. A white stripe around the neck. The wings are black and red. Bird legs with red and black lines. Egypt, 664–30 BC Late Period–Ptolemaic Period. Sculpture; height 24.3 cm, width 20.5 cm., A painted bird-shaped sculpture perched on a rectangular base, with a curved beak and a rounded head, showing worn and chipped painted surfaces; the sculpture displays a mix of brown, reddish-brown, beige, black, and faded ochre tones, with darker patterned markings on the head and legs and black stylized talon shapes on the base, and the background is a uniform grey.
