Figurine of the goddess Isis nursing Horus. The figurine depicts a seated Isis with the child Horus on her lap; Isis supports Horus with her left hand and offers him her breast with her right. Isis is dressed in a narrow, close-fitting robe and wears a fragment of the base of a crown on her head. Horus is naked, wears a neck ornament, has a lock of youth hanging from the right side of his head, and a uraeus placed above his forehead. A hieroglyphic votive text is inscribed on the base. Late Period, 525–343 BC 27th–30th Dynasty, Egypt. Sculpture; height 21.7 cm, width 7 cm, depth 10.5 cm, weight 1.22 kg., A dark brown metallic sculptural figure seated on a clear support, shown in profile, holding a smaller seated child figure on its knee; the larger figure has a textured surface, an elongated headdress with a rounded protrusion at the forehead, a visible eye and nose in profile, and an arm extended to support the child; the child figure is also dark brown metallic with a small headdress, visible facial features, and relaxed arms and legs; the larger figure's leg extends down to a rectangular base fragment with rough edges and a worn surface; the clear support is translucent and the background is a flat light gray.
