Jug. Medium-sized biconical clay jug with wide, sloping shoulders and a wide neck that is almost cylindrical in its lower section and widens toward the spout; the neck is about one third of the vessel's height. Profiled, irregular spout raised and extended on one side to form a small secondary spout; slightly rounded, almost triangular in cross-section, with a small approx. 1 mm indentation on the outer profile. Body widest at about half its height; bottom almost flat, very slightly rounded. Made on the wheel of Nile clay NB1 Vienna System. Outer surface leveled, covered with an engobe and polished; inner surface leveled. Red-brown color. Complete and very well preserved. Old Kingdom, 5th–6th Dynasty, c. 2494–c. 2181 BC. From Edfu.
