Deep bowl. Cup-shaped clay bowl with a slightly convex bottom and sides arching upwards; straight, flat, flaring rim. Made of Nile clay NB1? per Vienna System. Covered with an engobe containing red ochre and thoroughly polished; vessel color red. Well preserved with slight clay damage on the rim. Comparative parallels cited to works by G. Reisner, G. Brunton, C. Knoblauch, and J. Bourriau including parallels dated to 4th–6th Dynasties; late 6th Dynasty. Function: vessel. Dimensions: height 15.1 cm; lip diameter 27.6 cm; bottom diameter 11.8 cm; weight 1.3 kg. Date: Old Kingdom 4th–6th Dynasty, c. 2494–c. 2181 BCE approx.. Maker: unknown., A group of terracotta objects sits against a smooth grey background, including a tall pedestal bowl with a flared base and a wide shallow dish on top, and a conical vessel holding a rounded bottle with a short neck and a slightly pinched rim. The objects are various shades of reddish-brown, with small lighter scuffs and mottling on their surfaces, and the background is a gradient of grey from lighter at the center to darker toward the edges.
